Massive inspiration boost!! This house by Vocus Architects is really my cup of tea :-)

 

 

Concrete floors,

 

 

beautiful steel doors.

 

 

bright and spacious kitchen, with a huge dining table,

 

 

the overall material mix,

the steel handrail... and did I mention the steel and glas doors?? ;-)

I could move right in here.!!

 

 

But most of all, I am dreaming about moving into our own home right now!! This  renovation is really testing my patience!

Seven months without our own place is taking its toll, especially on the interior nerd in the family!;)

 I want to fix, and furnish, and have my own things around me again!

Only a few more weeks left.., I hope!!

MONDAY MOOD

- BURGUNDY -

 

 

 Same procedure every year... I fall in love with this deep, warm burgundy color all over again!

Already been out shopping ;)

A soft, burgundy, wool scarf, a warm sweather, and a deep red dress. All hanging there in my wardrobe, ready for the the crisp autumn air :-) 

 

 

 Burgundy is a beautiful color to use in our home decorating as well, especially this time of year. Don`t you agree?

 

 

Neutral grey colors, both warm and cold hues, marries very well wih the deep red colors. Play with hues and tones to find your personal favorite. Do you prefer the fresh rasberry color below, or a deeper burgundy hue, like the one on the chaiselong in the picture further up?

 A couple of weeks ago, I was attending the autumn news party at Slettvoll, and I immediately noticed their new, rasberry red/burgundy love seat! ♥♥

STRAP UP YOUR STUFF

 

 

Leather belts, or leather straps can be useful  in your home, as well as on your jeans :-)

Buy practical, nice leather strap products in the store, or...if you are a bit handy, be creative and make them yourself :-)

 

 

 This playful vanity shelf and mirror from Ligne Roset is so cool.

 

 

The Gubi leather belt mirror top left is a classic , leather and wood hanger is designed by Jesper Su Rosenmeier, Strap shelf... get similar here, and the nice cloth rack you will find here.

 

 

Stylizimo used the leather strap cloths rack in her office. Creative and very decorative:-)

FUNKY LIVING IN BERLIN

 

 This funky apartment is located in the middle of Berlin, and you can rent it if you want!! A really cool place to stay when in Berlin. :) Check out this suite, and many more at Suite 030 

 

 

 

Lots of decorating ideas in this apartment as well! The dark colored roof whith text written on it. Or how about a huge leather punching bag in the living room? Decorative and usefull when one needs to get some frustration out of the system ;-))

 

 

 

A simple, metal storage solution, but very decorative, and practical too.

 

 

How about printing a picture on some weathered wood boards? Not very difficult actually! A lot of printing companies offer this service.

 

 

Or, you can put up a map of the city, as an educational art piece ;)

A great deal of inspiration and ideas in this masculine apartment, and a nice place to stay if you are visiting Berlin I would think!

MASCULINE MONDAY

 

 

When fall arrives, the masculine colors, textiles and fashion trends always inspire me a bit extra! :-)

This clean lined interior has a masculine, yet calm and cozy feel, created  by matte and muted wallcolors, soft mustard yellow textiles and a thick wool carpet on the floor. The picture is from Jotun Lady`s new color chart "Everyday Simplisity", and the styling is done by the always inspiring duo Kråkvik & D`Orazio. Needless to say at this time, I ♥ ♥ ♥ the industrial glas doors ! ;-))

 

 

The colors above are all from Jotun Lady`s "Everyday Simplisity". Great basic colors for your home this fall. Be creative, and make it more colorful and personal, by adding colors like mustard yellow, strong blues, or maybe a fresh rasberry red.

 

 

 

I find the masculine check and stripe psatterns looking balanced and sophisticated. Do you think it is to strict or boring?

Leather is another material that I think fits this style. Leather furniture, headboards, handles, and even some nice, worn boots fits in here:)

Even if everything in this room is dark colored, it doesn`t feel unpleasant or boring at all! This diningroom has caracter and it looks cozy and inviting, right?

CUSTOMIZE YOUR IKEA FURNITURE

September last year, I wrote a blogpost about how to Pimp Your Ikea, and I gave you some tips on how to personalise Ikea Furniture. Well, today I have even better news on the matter...Superfront opened their first showroom located outside of Sweden this morning, here in Norway! :-)

THE WATERHOUSE
 

 

Some late night travel tip tonight :-)

I really love when industrial buildings are renovated and used for a totally different purpose, without loosing it`s identity.

A Perfect example, is the three -story Japanese Army headquarters building from the 1930`s, located on the South Bund District in Shanghai. The worn down building has been carefully renovated into a 19-room boutique hotel. So cool!!

Waterhouse at South Bund was designed by Neri & Hu Design and Research Office.

 

The courtyard located whithin the waterhouse, has a clean white and minimal look, contrasted by weathered wood shutters on the windows, and a new addition covered in Cor-Ten  steel, to reflect the industrial past of the area around the hotel.
 

 

Inside the boutique hotel, the atmosphere is crisp, clean, and factory-like. Elements like the white, romantic chandelier creates interest and caracter to the rooms.



 

Love the weathered concrete wall!!
 

 

The two restaurants and the guest rooms are furnished Scandinavian style, by Danish designers like Arne Jacobsen, Finn Juhl, and Hans Wegner.

The Cor-Ten steel entrance connects the old and the new part of the hotel togheter.



 

 

And on top of the new built part of the hotel, you can enjoy a coctail, looking out on the Pudong ( the Shanghai equivalent of Wall Street) skyline.
